#4 Wresting Team Dominates Stevens In Lopsided Win

Hoboken, N.J. -- The fourth-ranked wrestling team (12-2) cruised to an easy win, romping over Stevens Institute of Technology (11-9-1) behind eight wins, including a pair of pins.

The Bombers scored the first 18 points of the bout and were never threatened, rolling to the victory in the first meeting between the two schools.

Senior Blaine Woszczak (Wall/Manasquan, N.J.) tied Ithaca's career victory record, posting his third straight pin to raise his record to 129-34. Woszczak, who's ranked second at 149 pounds, matched Bob Panariello (1981-85) atop the program's career win list. Woszczak has won 15 straight matches, including the last three by fall, to improve to 27-2 on the year (13-0 in dual meets). The pin was his eighth of the year.

Junior Seth Ecker (Pottstown/Pottstown, Pa.) was also a winner by fall, raising his record to 23-4. Ecker, who's ranked third nationally at 133 pounds, is now 69-16 in his career.

Junior Jeremy Stierly (Owen J. Roberts/Pottstown, Pa.), ranked second at 141 pounds, handed Stevens' returning all-American a 3-1 overtime loss. Stierly, who beat a 2010 all-American for the second day in a row, is now 15-1 this winter (10-0 in dual meets). His career record is 70-16.

Senior David Priest (Wyomissing Area/Douglassville, Pa.), who's ranked ninth nationally at 174 pounds, used a 7-2 decision to snap a 23-match winning streak by his opponent. Priest is now 19-3 this season with a 12-2 dual-match record. With a 96-29 career record, he's four victories away from becoming the 17th Bomber to reach 100 overall wins.

Freshman Dominick Giacalone (Cato-Meridian/Cato) opened the match with a 3-0 shutout win. He's now 10-7 this season.

Junior Keith Dickey (Cedar Cliff/New Cumberland, Pa.) and freshman Shane Bartrum (Oswego/Oswego) won by decision at 184 and 197 pounds, respectively, before junior Matt Mahon (Brighton/Rochester), the nation's sixth-ranked heavyweight, closed the bout with a forfeit win that raised his season record to 20-6 and his career mark to 66-21.

The Bombers wrap up their home season Friday, Feb. 11, hosting #15 Wilkes.
