ITHACA, N.Y. -- The men's soccer team (4-9-1, 3-3-0 Empire 8) is seeded fourth for this weekend's Empire 8 Championship Tournament and will play a semifinal match at top-seeded Stevens (14-2-0, 6-0-0 E8) Friday at 3:30 p.m. A

Second-seeded Nazareth (10-6-0, 4-2-0 E8) hosts third-seeded Elmira (12-2-1, 3-2-1 E8) in Friday's other semifinal. The winners of Friday's semifinal matches will play Sunday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
Ithaca is making its seventh all-time appearance in the Empire 8 playoffs and won the conference tournament in 2002. The Bombers have an all-time record of 3-2-3 in the Empire 8 tournament, and have failed to advance in penalty kicks following all three ties.
Freshman
Tim Goldman (Manlius-Pebble Hill/Fayetteville) leads the Bombers in goals (3) and points (7). He was named to the All-Empire 8 Second Team earlier this week, along with senior defender
Matt Anthony (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) and junior midfielder
Ryan Norland (East Brunswick/East Brunswick, N.J.).
Ithaca freshman goalkeeper
Jordan Gentile (Manlius-Pebble Hill/Syracuse) has made 10 starts and compiled a 3-6-1 record.
Gentile has two shutouts this season.
Sophomore forward
James Shankland (Pleasantville/Pleasantville), sophomore midfielder
Nick Murad (New Milford/New Milford, Conn.) and freshman forward
Zach Hutchinson (Hopkinton/Hopkinton, Mass.) have each scored two goals for Ithaca on the season.
Stevens Institute of Technology is ranked seventh-nationally by d3soccer.com and 18th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Ducks have won 13 consecutive games after starting the season with a 1-2-0 record. Stevens defeated Ithaca 1-0 on Oct. 15 in a regular-season game at the DeBaun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J.
