Alfred, N.Y. -- Saturday's championship round of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament was suspended because of weather and has been pushed back again; the tournament is now scheduled to resume Sunday at 2 p.m. The second-seeded Bombers and top-seeded Saxons are tied 2-2 with Alfred batting with two outs in the top of the third inning. The Bombers need two wins to claim the Empire 8 title and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs; the Saxons need one win to win the conference crown.

The Ithaca-Alfred game will pick up with the Saxons batting in the top of the third. Both Ithaca runs scored in the bottom of the first. Freshman outfielder Molly O'Donnell (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) led off with a double and scored one batter later when junior third baseman Allison Greaney (John F. Kennedy/Iselin, N.J.) reached on a fielder's choice. Greaney advanced to second on an error and scored on a single by sophomore shortstop Annemarie Forenza (Hunterdon Central/Whitehouse Station, N.J.).
