ITHACA, N.Y. – Visiting Cortland (7-2), ranked fourth nationally, posted its first regular-season win over Ithaca since 2007 Wednesday, beating the Bombers (2-7) 11-5.

Ithaca held the Red Dragons – who entered the game ranked 16th nationally in scoring offense – to one goal over the final 39:49, a stretch that included blanking Cortland in the third quarter.

Junior Ryan Lowe (Fairport/Fairport) scored Ithaca's first three goals and finished with career-best totals of three goals and four assists.

Sophomores Devin Weinshank (Long Beach/Long Beach) and Tom Mongelli (Kinnelon/Kinnelon, N.J.) added second-half goals. Senior Nic Heckman (Sparta/Sparta, N.J.) added two assists.

Sophomore Brendan Green (Pittsford-Mendon/Pittsford) allowed just two goals in 33:51 in net and matched a career high with a team-leading four ground balls.

The Bombers return to Empire 8 play Saturday, hosting #17 Rochester Institute of Technology.
