ITHACA, N.Y. -- The softball team (11-5, 2-0 Empire 8) swept its opening Empire 8 doubleheader in convincing fashion, throttling visiting Stevens (3-12, 0-2 Empire 8) 12-0 in a five-inning game. The Bombers, who've won seven straight, set a team single-game record with seven doubles. Freshman outfielder Jennifer Biondi (Morris Knolls/Denville, N.J.) hit a school-record three.
