Hoboken, N.J.--The Bombers split a doubleheader with Stevens Institute of Technology (9-13, 1-3 Empire 8) Saturday afternoon, falling 8-6 in game one and winning 15-12 in the second contest. In the game two win, the Bombers scored at least one run in each of the first six innings. Down 8-5, Ithaca rallied to tie the score in the fourth inning. Senior Jon Krakower (The Berkshire School/Albany) and junior Matt Streich (East Greenwich/East Greenwich, R.I.) led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Junior Trevor Wolf (Lansing/Freeville) drew a walk to load the bases.

Junior David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington) drove in Krakower on an infield single. Senior #T.J. Abone# (Rome Free Academy/Rome) drove in the second and third runs of the inning on a single up the middle.

After the Ducks scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead, the Bombers had a four run fifth to take the lead for good. Junior Sean Weber (Columbia/East Schodack) led off the inning with his first career home run. Krakower walked and, after a pair of Bomber outs, Ahonen launched his second home run of the season to put Ithaca up 11-10.

The Bombers tacked on three insurance runs, with Streich knocking in two on a double and scoring on a passed ball.

Streich, Abone and freshman Ian Gaule (Columbia/East Greenbush) each had three hits in the win. Ahonen and Weber each drove in three with Krakower scoring four.

Gaule, who threw 1.2 innings, also picked up the win in relief.

In the opener, Streich, Abone and senior Mike Armstrong (Penfield/Penfield) each had two-hit games. Streich drove in two in the game.
