ITHACA, N.Y.--The Bombers scored more goals than than have in any game in more than three years in a 22-3 win over Hartwick (1-8, 0-5). Ithaca (6-3, 5-0 Empire 8) extended their winning streak to five games. Nine Bombers scored goals in the game, with four scoring at least three.
Ithaca's goal total was the most since they put up a 25-0 win over Wells to open the 2007 season. Their margin of victory was the largest since a 21-1 win over Alfred in 2008.
Sophomore Racquel Lividini (Mamroneck/Mamaroneck) led all players with five goals in the game, a new career-high and the highest for any Bomber in a single game this season. Lividini also picked up an assist.
Four other Bombers picked up hat tricks, with senior Lauren Fitzgerald (William C. Hall/West Hartford, Conn.), sophomore Nicole Borisenok (Albany Academy for Girls/Watervilet) and freshman Tracy Rivas (East Meadow/East Meadow) and Samantha Whitney (Portsmouth/Rye, N.H.) all tallying three goals. Whitney recorded her first career multi-goal game.
Fitzgerald also caused three turnovers.
Junior Katie Hurley (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) added two goals and two assists.
Senior Courtney Dowell (Massapequa/Massapequa) picked up the win in goal, her fifth of the season. She held the Hawks to three goals and picked up five saves. Freshman Jess Worthman (Commack/Hauppauge) entered in the second half and picked up a pair of saves over 23:48 of scoreless play.
The Bombers return to action Wednesday at Hamilton.
