Bombers Even Softball Record With 6-1 Win Over Farmingdale

Panama City, Fla. -- The softball team (2-2) defeated Farmingdale (0-3) Saturday in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Leadoff Classic. The Bombers will face either Lynchburg or Muskingum Sunday at 8:30 a.m.

Junior catcher Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) went two-for-three and junior second baseman Kait Dolan (Victor/Farmington) drove in a pair of runs. Freshman center fielder Jennifer Biondi (Morris Knolls/Denville, N.J.) added a pair of hits. Barger raised her career average to .348 (17th all-time at Ithaca) and her slugging percentage to .462 (18th all-time).

Junior Alison Greaney (John F. Kennedy/Iselin, N.J.) improved to 2-1, throwing a complete-game three-hitter. She allowed just one hit over the final 6.1 innings, retiring 12 straight Rams at one point.

Dolan drew a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to tie the score and Ithaca broke the game open with five sixth-inning runs. Greaney singled in the go-ahead run and Dolan, Biondi and junior outfielder Brittany Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) each drove in runs.
