Bombers Fall to No. 23 Eastern

Rachel Busch hit .300 with seven kills

Huntingdon, Pa.--The volleyball team lost its first match of the season, falling 3-0 to 23rd-ranked Eastern (2-1), 25-20, 25-19, 25-15. The Bombers (1-1) continue play at Juniata's Aasics Invitational Friday night, taking on Hiram at 8 p.m.

Senior Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) paced the Ithaca attack, registering seven kills against one error in 20 attempts. Sophomore Kate Thoene (Voorhees/High Bridge, N.J.) also hit better than .300, picking up six kills and hitting .308 in 13 attempts.

Defensively, sophomore Tina Orlandini (Flintridge Sacred Heart/Altadena, Calif.) led all players with 19 digs.

Freshmen Stephanie Lavallato (Hunterdon Central/Flemington, N.J.) and Marissa Woodcome (Pittsford/Pittsford) each had a pair of aces, accounting for two thirds of the Bombers total as a team.
