Oneonta, N.Y. – The Ithaca field hockey team (2-6) held a first-half lead but lost 3-1 to Oneonta (4-7) Wednesday afternoon in cold, windy conditions at Oneonta's All College Field.

Senior midfielder Annie Onzik (Bishop O'Reilly/Shavertown, Pa.) scored her fourth goal of the season and now leads the team with 10 points. Onzik deflected a shot by junior forward Katherine Brown (Akron/Akron) in the 24th minute to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. The assist was Brown's team-leading fifth assist of the year. Brown led Ithaca with six shots in the game.

Senior goalkeeper Chelsea Welsh (Scotia-Glenville/Scotia) made her second straight start and had three saves.

Ithaca returns to Empire 8 play Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Bombers host #16 Stevens Institute of Technology.
