Bombers Drop Match to Rochester

Stephanie Lavallato has a team-leading 127 kills this season

Rochester, N.Y.--The volleyball team opened the RIT Invitational with a loss to Rochester, falling 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23 to the Yellowjackets (9-3). The Bombers (7-5) got 14 kills from freshman Stephanie Lavallato (Hunterdon/Flemington, N.J.) and 11 from senior Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) in the match.

Sophomores Kate Theone (Voorhess/High Bridge, N.J.) and Karin Edsall (Cornwall Central/Cornwall) added nine and eight kills, respectively. Edsall led the Bombers with three aces.

Thoene hit .300 in the match, and added three blocks.

Senior Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) tallied 44 assists against Rochester, her second straight match with at least 40.

Ithaca continues play Firday at 9 p.m. against Fredonia.
