ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca swept Rutgers-Newark (0-10) to advance to the Bomber Invitational championship match against Widener. The Bombers (6-4) won 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 to win their season-high fourth match in a row. The team will take on Widender for the tournament title at 5 p.m.
Sophomore Karin Edsall (Cornwall Central/Cornwall) led all players with 11 kills, a new career high. She hit .474. Classmates Elizabeth Previte (Hunterdon/Flemington, N.J.) and Kate Thoene (Voorhees/High Bridge, N.J.) hit .571 and .385, respectively.
Freshman Marissa Woodcome (Pittsford Sutherland/Pittsford) tallied a career-high 19 assists in the win. She also totaled five case, also a career-best.
