Ithaca, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's tennis team (14-7) concluded its regular season Wednesday with a 6-3 loss to William Smith (10-4) in a matchup of regionally-ranked teams at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca.

Ithaca earned two wins in singles competition and another at third doubles. Junior Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) was a 6-3, 3-6, 10-1 winner at sixth singles. It was the team-leading 17th singles win of the season for Hollis. Sophomore Agata Kubik (C.K. Norwid Gen. Lyceum/Czestochowa, Poland) won in straight sets at second singles, defeating William Smith's Amanda Slack 6-2, 6-1.

Seniors Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.) and Lindsey Johnston (Woodstock Academy/Pomfret Center, Conn.) were 8-3 victors at third doubles.

The Bombers await word on their placement for the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, which will begin with regional play May 8-10. The tournament bracket and regional locations will be announced May 4. Ithaca clinched an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament by winning the Empire 8 championship during the fall portion of the season.
