ITHACA, N.Y. – St. Lawrence (9-4) won two of three doubles matches and went on to a 5-4 victory over the Ithaca women's tennis team (13-6) Friday in a dual meet at the Ithaca College Tennis Courts. The match pitted two regionally-ranked teams according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. The Bombers are ranked 22nd in the Northeast Region and St. Lawrence is ranked 24th.

Ithaca earned its first victory of the afternoon at third doubles, where senior Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.) teamed with classmate Lindsey Johnston (Woodstock Academy/Pomfret Center, Conn.) to win 9-7.

The Bombers won three of the six singles matches, highlighted by sophomore Agata Kubik (C.K. Norwid Gen. Lyceum/Czestochowa, Poland) winning 6-4, 6-3 at second singles. Sophomore Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at fourth singles and junior Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles.

Ithaca returns to action Saturday afternoon when the Bombers host New Paltz at 2 p.m.
