Softball Swept by Rochester

Caitlin Ryan has driven in seven runs this season.

ITHACA, N.Y.--The Bombers (11-9) lost twice to Rochester (13-6) Tuesday, falling 5-0 and 8-2 to the 19th-ranked Yellowjackets. Ithaca returns to action Wednesday with a game against Kings. Junior Caitlin Ryan (Allentown/Clarksburg, N.J.) drove in both of Ithaca's runs in the second game.

Junior Alyssa Brook (Monmouth Regional/Tinton Falls, N.J.) and sophomore Brittany Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) each pitched complete games for the Bombers. In the opener, Brook allowed three earned runs on five hits. She struck out three. Lillie struck out five Yellowjackets in game two.

Freshman Annmarie Forenza (Hunterdon Central/Whitehouse Station, N.J.), junior Danielle Fazzolare (Plainedge/North Massapequa), junior Katherine Wilson (Sparta/Sparta, N.J.) and Lillie collected hits for the Bombers in the first game. Forenza hit a double.

In game two, Lillie cut the Rochester lead to 6-2 with a tow-run single to right field. Sophomores Allison Greaney (John F. Kennedy/Iselin, N.J.) and Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) both scored on Lillie's base hit.

Barger went 2-for-3 in the second game.

Ithaca returns to Kostrinksy Field Wednesday, with a 3 p.m. matchup with King's.
