Salisbury, Md. -- The #23 Bombers (8-4) split a pair of games Friday at the Salisbury Invitational, beating Plattsburgh 6-1 and losing to the host Sea Gulls 5-2. Ithaca faces Geneseo and Capital in Saturday's competition.

In Friday's opener, sophomore Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) collected three of Ithaca's seven hits and junior Alyssa Brook (Monmouth Regional/Tinton Falls, N.J.) allowed three hits in a complete-game win.

Barger singled twice and doubled. catcher #Katherine Wilson# (Sparta/Sparta, N.J.) put Ithaca up for good with a two-run single in the second inning and junior first baseman Caitlin Ryan (Allentown/Clarksburg, N.J.) doubled in two more runs in the third. Junior Regina Douglas (James Caldwell/West Caldwell, N.J.) and third baseman #Allison Greaney# (John F. Kennedy/Iselin, N.J.) added RBI's in the sixth.

Brook fanned four and didn't walk a batter in raising her season record to 5-2.

Greaney and freshman shortstop Annmarie Forenza (Hunterdon Central/Whitehouse Station, N.J.) had two hits apiece in the Salisbury game. Wilson scored Ithaca's first run on an infield error and Greaney pulled the Bombers to within 4-2 with her first home run of the season.
