Alfred, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's tennis team (6-0, 5-0 Empire 8) remained perfect on the year with a 9-0 win over Alfred (8-6, 2-5 Empire 8) Thursday at Alfred. Ithaca has won 37 consecutive regular season and playoff matches against Empire 8 opponents.

The Bombers won eight of the nine matches in straight sets including two by 6-0, 6-0 scores in singles play. The three doubles wins saw Ithaca drop just seven total games.

Ithaca continues a busy week Saturday at home against Nazareth. Please note a time change for that match, as it will begin at 11 a.m. on Ithaca's Homecoming Weekend.
