Alfred, N.Y.--The Bombers opened the second Empire 8 Crossover with a 3-0 win over Alfred (3-23, 0-8 Empire 8), defeating the Saxons 25-12, 25-16, 25-8. Ithaca (18-13, 4-1 Empire 8) hit .384 as a team in the win. The Bombers can clinch a berth in the Empire 8 Tournament with a victory over Hartwick at 7:30 p.m.

Senior Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) and sophomore Karin Edsall (Cornwall Central/Cornwall) both registered 10 kills in the match. Edsall hit .571.

Freshman Katie Rickabaugh (Henderson/West Chester, Pa.) had a career-high eight kills and hit .615. She did not commit an error in 13 attack attempts.

Senior Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) led all players with 28 assists and 11 digs. Freshman Carly Graham (West Genesee/Syracuse) tallied a career-best seven assists.
