Alfred, N.Y.--Ithaca hammered Alfred 73-36 in Empire 8 action Sunday, making the Bombers (6-5, 2-0) the only team in the Empire 8 to hold a 2-0 conference record. The win was their 29th consecutive over the Saxons (5-3, 0-1), and gives Ithaca a 39-4 all-time advantage over Alfred.
Senior Tracy Bradley (Lewiston/Brunswick, Maine) had a game-high 13 points and eight rebounds in the win. Joining her in reaching double-figures in scoring were sophomore Jordan Confessore (South Brunswick/Kendall PArk, N.J.) and junior Lindsay Brown (Immaculate/Danbury, Conn.)
The Bombers made 53 percent of their field goal attempts, and held the Saxons to just 23 percent shooting from the floor. The difference was greater in the first half, with Ithaca holding a 55-15 advantage in field goal shooting.
As a team Ithaca outrebounded Alfred 46-31.
Ithaca returns home Tuesday with a 6 p.m. matchup with Utica.
