Bombers Rout Lycoming In 30-9 Wrestling Win

Seth Ecker was one of two Bombers to win by major decision

Williamsport, Pa. – The seventh-ranked Ithaca wrestling team (11-1) won eight bouts – picking up bonus points in four of them, beating #30 Lycoming (12-7) 30-9 Thursday. The Bombers improve to 9-6 all-time against the Warriors, winning the third straight in the series.

Sophomore David Priest (Wyomissing/Douglassville, Pa.), ranked sixth nationally, improved to 17-3 with a 6-2 win at174 pounds. He's 43-17 in his career.

Two other nationally ranked Bombers both remained unbeaten in dual meets: sophomore Blaine Woszczak (Wall/Manasquan, N.J.), ranked seventh at 149 pounds, was a 7-4 winner to raise his record to 12-0 in dual meets (25-6 overall). He's 57-20 in his career and undefeated (8-0) in dual meets this winter.

At 157 pounds, junior Willie Horwath (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.) won by technical fall to raise his season mark to 27-5, including a 12-0 dual-meet record. Horwath, who picked up his second technical fall of the season, is 82-27 as a Bomber. He's ranked ninth in Division III.

With three dual meets remaining, Horwath, Priest and Woszczak have a chance to join 20 other Bombers who've posted unbeaten seasons in dual-meet competition. Three-time all-American Ryan Ciotoli (17-0 in 2000-01), now an Ithaca assistant coach, is the only Bomber wrestler to do so since 1995.

Freshman Chad Condidorio (LeRoy/LeRoy) also won by technical fall, opening up a 21-6 lead with nine seconds to go at 133 pounds. Condidorio is 15-7 overall, with a 5-1 dual-meet mark.

Freshman Seth Ecker (Pottstown/Pottstown, Pa.) and junior John Paxos (Roxbury/Succasunna, N.J.) both won by major decision. Ecker was a 12-3 winner at 125 pounds to raise his record to 16-5. Paxos, who won 11-2 at 141 pounds, is 19-6 this winter and 65-37 in his career.
