Bombers Defeat RIT for Third Win of the Season

Alyssa Jaffe won both her singles and doubles match against RIT on Saturday
Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's tennis team (3-0, 3-0 Empire 8) recorded a 7-2 victory on Saturday over RIT (2-1, 2-1 Empire 8) by winning five singles and two doubles matches.

Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) and Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) each recorded two wins on the day in their respective singles and doubles matches.

Jaffe was victorious in her third singles match, beating Alexis Stanley in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 and teamed up with Devra Reiman (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.) to post an 8-1 win in second doubles.

Cohen defeated Michele Caporali in fourth singles 6-3, 7-5 while picking up another win in third doubles with teammate Melissa Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) 8-2.

Agata Kubik (C.K. Norwid Gen. Lyceum/Czestochowa, Poland), Natalie Jenereski (Knoch/Butler, Pa.) and Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) each won their singles matches accounting for the remainder of Ithaca's points.

The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Cortland for a 4 p.m. start against the Red Dragons.
