Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's tennis team won its second-round match in the Flower City Tournament by defeating host Nazareth 5-0 in an abbreviated contest.

The Bombers swept all three doubles matches and then won the first two completed singles matches to secure enough points for the match victory.

Taylor Borden (West Morris-Mendham) and Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Ft. Wayne, Ind.) won 8-0 at first doubles to highlight the match. Borda also won at first singles 6-3, 6-3. The freshman tandem of Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.) and Mike Muraco (Fayetteville-Manlius/Manlius) won 8-6 at second doubles, and the team of Daniel Adelman (Pomfret School/Hampton, Conn.) and Andrew Dunnick (Ithaca/Ithaca) won the third doubles match by an 8-2 count.

The clinching team point was earned by Adelman at fifth singles, with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Ithaca is now 1-1 in the fall season and will face Hobart in the tournament's fifth-place match on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Mendon Racquet Club.
