ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's tennis team (7-0, 6-0 Empire 8) won five of six singles matches Sunday in a 6-3 win over Stevens Institute of Technology (8-3, 5-3 Empire 8). The Bombers have won 25 consecutive dual matches against Empire 8 opponents.

Ithaca trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches were completed, with the Bomber victory coming at second doubles where Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) and Melissa Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) were 8-6 victors.

Devra Reiman (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.), Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.), and Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) won in straight sets in their singles matches to give the Bombers a 4-2 lead. Natalie Jenereski (Knoch/Butler, Pa.) secured the clinching point for Ithaca by winning a third-set tiebreaker. Agata Kubik (C.K. Norwid Gen. Lyceum/Czestochowa, Poland) also won in singles play in three sets.

Sunday morning's dual versus Stevens was the first of two matches on the day for the Bombers. They will face St. John Fisher later Sunday afternoon.
