ITHACA, N.Y.—After dropping the opening set, Ithaca rallied to defeat Alfred 22-25, 25-9, 25-16, 25-9 on the second day of the Empire 8 Crossover. The Bombers (17-15, 4-3) and Saxons (4-20, 0-7) each have one conference game left to play Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Bombers extended their home winning streak to five matches.

Freshman Chelsea Hayes (Northern Valley Regional/Haworth, N.J.) paced the Bomber attack with a career-best 16 kills. She also recorded four aces, including three consecutive in the third set. Hayes added nine digs.

Senior Brianna D'Errico (Byron/Byron-Bergen) recorded a team-best 19 digs. With nine kills and one error in 12 attempts, she narrowly missed her second double-double in the past week. D'Errico tallied six aces, her highest total this season.

Ithaca concludes its Empire 8 schedule Sunday at 3 p.m. against Stevens Institute of Technology.
