Hoboken, N.J. – The Ithaca women's tennis team (10-0) defeated Stevens Institute of Technology 5-1 on Saturday morning in the semifinal round of the Empire 8 Women's Tennis Championship tournament. The Bombers led 2-1 after doubles matches were complete and then won the first three singles matches to clinch the victory. The Bombers are the three-time defending Empire 8 tournament champions.

Ithaca started strongly with wins at first and third doubles. Senior Natalie Jenereski (Knoch/Butler, Pa.) and sophomore Agata Kubik (C.K. Norwid Gen. Lyceum/Czestochowa, Poland) won 8-6 at first doubles and Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) and Melissa Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) were 8-6 victors at third doubles.

Junior Devra Reiman (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.), senior Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.) and junior Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) won in straight sets in their singles matches to give the Bombers the overall victory.

The Bombers are three-time defending champions and will face the Rochester Institute of Technology in Sunday's final at 10 a.m.
