Volleyball Wins Greyhound Invitational; Defeat Muhlenberg 3-0

 
Bethlehem, Pa. -- The volleyball team improved to 4-0 on the season and captured the Greyhound Premiere Invitational title with a 3-0 (30-20, 30-19, 30-22) over Muhlenberg. Senior defensive specialist/outside hitter Mary Schaefer (Eden/Eden) led the Bombers with a double-double, registering team-highs of 13 kills and 18 digs.
 
Senior outside hitter Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/Horseheads) and sophomore middle hitter Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) recorded 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Sophomore setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) registered 42 assists and six digs.
 
Doctor and senior outside hitter Andria Mynders (Minisink Valley/Greenville) were named to the all tournament team.
 
Ithaca will next host the annual Bomber Invitational Sept. 7-8 at Ben Light Gymnasium. The Bombers open the 10-team tournament Friday with matches against Baptist Bible at 4 p.m. and Widener at 6 p.m.
