Ithaca Beats #19 Oneonta 5-4

Ithaca, N.Y. -- The Bombers rallied to beat 19th-ranked Oneonta, winning 5-4 on an RBI double by freshman catcher Rob Raux (Frankfort/Ilion) in the bottom of the ninth. Raux’s hit scored junior outfielder PJ Canestrari (Randolph/Ironia, N.J.), who had walked and stolen second. Oneonta, ranked second in the region, had tied the game with a two-out home run in the top of the ninth.

Raux finished with two doubles; senior Marty O’Boyle (Verona/Verona, N.J.) and senior outfielder Ben McBride (Ridgefield/Ridgefield, Conn.) each collected two hits. Senior John Dowling (Whitesboro/Utica) earned the win, his first of the spring.
