ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's cross country team finished as the runner-up at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational Saturday at Genesee Valley Park.

In his first race of 2013, sophomore Sawyer Hitchcock led the Bombers on the eight-kilometer course with a 26:20.20 finish to place fifth out of 163 competitors.

Finishing back-to-back, rookie Sean Phillips and junior Dennis Ryan clocked in at 26:32.30 and 26:33.40 to place 10th and 11th.  Sophomore Larkin Bohanan placed 15th with a 26:45.70 finish and classmate Stephen Gomez 17th in 26:49.80.

Rounding out the Bombers' top seven were freshman Paul Lapre and senior Samuel Horwath. Lapre crossed the finish line 19th in 26:59.30 and Horwath was 26th with a time of 27:09.00

Ithaca returns to the course on Friday, Sept. 20th at the RPI Invitational.
