Biography
2013: Horwath competed in seven races as a senior captain. He clocked a season-best 8,000-meter time of 27:09.00 at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational. Horwath was named Ithaca’s Empire 8 Men’s Cross Country Sportsman of the Year.
2012: Horwath competed in seven races during his junior season. He tallied a season-best time of 27:16.33 in the 8,000-meter run at the NYSCTC Championship. He finished 13th at the Empire 8 Championship to earn Second-Team All-E8 nods.
2011: Horwath competed in six races as a sophomore. He recorded season-best times of 21:06.00 in the 6,000-meter run and 27:56.00 in the 8,000.
2010: Horwath competed in five races for the Bombers during his freshman campaign. He recorded season-best times of 22:08.30 in the 6,000-meter run at Cortland’s Jack Daniels Invitational and 29:03.00 in the 8,000 run at the Empire 8 Championships.
High School: A 2010 graduate of Kutztown High School, Horwath was coached by Kelley Neyhart. He earned four varsity letters as a member of the cross country team. He also lettered as a member of track and field.
Personal: A computer science major, he is the son of Jan and Darlene Horwath. He is also a distance runner on Ithaca's track & field team.
