Randall Places Fourth, Ithaca Races Sixth at NCAA Atlantic Region Championship

MT. MORRIS, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's cross country team placed sixth out of 38 teams Saturday at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships at Letchworth State Park with 193 points. Graduate student Jenn Randall clocked a career-best time of 21:24.60 to place fourth out of 269 runners and earn a trip to the NCAA Championship on Nov. 23.

Randall raced to a sixth-place finish as a freshman in 2009 where she set her previous career-best six-kilometer time of 22:13.00.

Joining Randall on the all-region team was junior Alexa Rick with a 35th-place finish of 22:37.00. Rick tallied all-region accolades for the second straight season after a 24th-place finish as a sophomore. 

Junior Emily Smith placed 45th, sophomore Jaime Lisack 50th and junior Carolyn Malone 60th. They finished with times of 22:46.50, 22:52.10 and 23:01.70.

Rounding out the Bombers' top seven were juniors Hannah Wright and Meghan Cass. Wright ran 66th in 23:06.00 and Cass placed 103rd in 23:38.80.

Ithaca's top six earned season-best times on the course.

The NCAA will announce its complete championship field Sunday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.
