Ninth Straight Runner-Up NYSCTC Finish for Women's Cross Country Squad

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's cross country team secured its ninth consecutive runner-up finish at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday at the Hamilton College Golf Course. Ithaca, who finished second out of 11 teams with just 64 points, has placed in the top three for 16 straight years. Ithaca finished second to 18th-ranked St. Lawrence who won the meet with 34 points.

Sophomore Jaime Lisack led the Bombers on the six-kilometer course. With a season-best time of 23:12.80, Lisack placed eighth out of 129 runners. Junior Carolyn Malone followed with another season-best of 23:24.80 to finish 10th.

Juniors Alexa Rick, Hannah Wright and Emily Smith finished 14th, 15th and 17th with times of 23:27.70, 23:32.10 and 23:40.40.

Junior Meghan Cass crossed the finish line 20th and sophomore Rachelle Sartori 21st. They recorded times of 23:48.40 and 23:48.90.

The Bombers return to action Saturday, Nov. 2 looking to defend their Empire 8 title at the conference championships in Saratoga Springs.
