Marissa Otto is entering her first season on the Ithaca College women’s volleyball coaching staff in 2016.
Otto brings a wealth of volleyball knowledge and experience from both her time as an NCAA Division I player, as well as her coaching stints at club programs. Most recently, she served as coach of the 14U team at Elevation Volleyball Club, an elite travel program based out of Mason, Ohio.
Prior to her stint at Elevation Volleyball, she was a full-time youth lesson coach at Elite Volleyball Training Center, located in Plain City, Ohio, from 2012-to-2015. She worked with youth athletes ranging in age from 6-to-18, cultivating technical volleyball skills, mental confidence, and leadership qualities. She also played an extensive role in organizing and executing the center’s clinic and camp programs throughout the year.
Otto is an accomplished volleyball player in her own right, earning a spot on the varsity women’s volleyball team at Ohio State University. She appeared in 10 matches for the Buckeyes as a defensive specialist during her freshman season, accumulating seven digs, one block assist, and one assist. She was also a recipient of the Ohio State Scholar Athlete award.
Otto graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in human development and family sciences, with a concentration in early childhood development, from Ohio State in 2014. She recently completed her master’s degree in elementary education from the College of Social Science, Health, and Education at Xavier University in May of 2016.
