2009-10: Starting every game, Barera led the Bombers in rebounds and ranked second in scoring as he averaged a double-double. During his junior season, Barera recorded 10.2 rebounds and 16.3 points per game earning him First-Team Empire 8, D3hoops.com East Region, NABC East Region, and ECAC Upstate N.Y. honors. Barera led the Bombers in rebounding 20 times and in scoring on eight occasions. He scored a career-high 33 points at Potsdam on Dec. 12 and pulled down a career-high 20 boards against Utica on Feb. 9. Barera notched 15 double-doubles during the season and was only held below double-digit rebounds on five occasions. He shot a team-leading .653 from the floor (198-for-303) and .732 from the charity stripe (60-for-82). Averaging 30.4 minutes per game, Barera added 34 assists, 29 steals and 27 blocks throughout the year. Barera was named Empire 8 Player of the Week on Dec. 14.

2008-09: Barera played in 19 of Ithaca’s 27 games. In 6.5 minutes per game, he averaged 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 points. Against conference opponent Elmira he narrowly missed his first career double-double, picking up 10 rebounds and nine points. Both figures were career-bests. Overall, Barera shot .450 from the field and .667 from the foul line.

2007-08: Barera appeared in seven games as a freshman. He picked up season-bests with nine points and nine rebounds in Ithaca’s win over Albany College of Pharmacy.

Career Statistics

High School: A 2007 graduate of Belmont High School, Barera was coached by Adam Pritchard and earned three varsity letters. He was an all-league selection his senior year and team MVP in his junior and senior seasons.

Personal: A sport management and finance major, he is the son of John Barera and Sharon Wilcox.
