Biography

2013-14: Mitchell, a team captain, started all 25 games and was named to the All-Empire 8 Second Team. He ranks eighth all-time in team history with 1,298 points and is the 24th player in the program history to reach 1,000 career points. Mitchell averaged 32.5 minutes per contest while leading the Bombers with 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Mitchell ended the season with a field goal percentage of 51.8, the best on the team. He had eight double-doubles on the year and had a season high 30 points on Jan. 10, 2014 against Alfred. He paced the Bombers in scoring 17 times throughout the season and reached the 20-point mark on 10 occasions. Mitchell led Ithaca with 420 points, 204 rebounds, 31 steals and 20 blocks on the year. 2012-13: Mitchell appeared in 30 games and made 27 starts for the Bombers in 2012-13, making him one of only four players to see action in every game of the season. He was an All-Empire 8 Second Team selection and was named the Empire 8 Championship Tournament MVP. During the regular season, he was named the Empire 8 Player Of The Week on Feb. 25, 2013. Mitchell played 883 minutes, ranking third on the team with 29.4 minutes played per game. He ranked first with 444 total points, while his 14.8 points per game average ranked second on the squad. Mitchell pulled down 71 offensive and 124 defensive rebounds on the year, ranking second on the team with a 6.5 rebound per game average. He finished the season with 24 assists, 19 blocks and 15 steals. Mitchell broke the 20-point plateau on eight occasions during the season, including a season-best performance of 26 against Oswego on Dec. 8 2012. | 2012-13 game-by-game statistics  

2011-12: In his first season with the Bombers, Mitchell started 25 of the 27 games in which he played. He led the Bombers with 16.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Mitchell, who posted five double-doubles, had 23 double-digit performances. He scored 20 points on nine occasions with a season-best performance of 28 against Stevens Institute of Technology. He was named to the Radisson Carnegie Mellon Invitational All-Tournament Team and earned Empire 8 Player of the Week accolades once. Mitchell was recognized on the All-Empire 8 Second Team and D3Hoops.com All-East Region Second Team. He tallied 434 points, 192 boards, 44 assists, 32 steals and 21 blocks while averaging 32.7 minutes per game as a sophomore. | 2011-12 game-by-game statistics

Career Statistics

2010-11: Mitchell played in seven games for Rutgers. He scored two points and grabbed four boards in 11 minutes of action for the Scarlet Knights.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Hillsborough High School, Mitchell was an all-conference and all-county selection during his junior and senior seasons. As a senior he was an all-area honoree and led his team to the N.J. Group Four semifinals.

Personal: A sport management major, Mitchell is the son of Frank and Janet Mitchell.
