Mike Burton returned to the Ithaca coaching staff to complete his 23rd year as an assistant coach in 2013-14. He had served as an assistant coach and head junior varsity coach for the Bombers from 1982-1995 and from 2002-10. During his tenure, the Bombers made five NCAA appearances and produced seven all-Americans.
He spent eight years as the varsity girls basketball coach at Trumansburg High School, winning two consecutive sectional titles and a New York State Final Four appearance in 1998.
Burton received his bachelor’s degree in 1971 from Utica and a master’s degree from Niagara in 1975.
