2016:
 Named Ithaca's Sportsman of the Year...Saw action in ten games for the Bombers in the 2016 campaign…Served as captain of the squad… Completed 13 of 19 for 251 yards with a touchdown against Utica on Oct 1… Recorded 152 passing yards and 15 completions against Alfred on Sept. 24…Registered 14 completions for 122 yards against Hobart on Sept. 17…Also completed a season-long 42 yard pass in the Hobart game… Completed 10 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against Union… Threw for a season-best 253 yards and career-high four touchdown passes against Brockport on Oct. 15…Recorded a season-long 48-yard pass and completed 12 out of 18 passes in the game as well…Recorded a season-long pass of 53 yards and registered a season-high seven rushing yards against Morrisville on Oct. 22…Completed seven on nine passes in the game for 110 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game with an injury…Completed 17 of 29 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns against St. John Fisher on Oct. 29…Threw for 203 yards and a touchdown on 15 of 21 passing against Buff State on Nov. 5…Completed 17 of 26 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns against Cortland on Nov. 12.

2015: Saw action in nine of the Bombers’ games this season…Was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team…Season highlight came against Cortland on Nov. 14, where he threw for 300 yards and a touchdown on 28-41 passing…Recorded two back-to-back games against Utica and Hartwick where he threw for 298 and 297, respectively…In both of those games, Shafer threw for three touchdowns…Threw for a season-long 53-yard pass in the game against Hobart on Sept. 19…Rushed for a season-high 32 yards on Sept. 26 against Alfred…Finished the season with 1728 yards and 12 touchdown passes on 157-254 passing yards…Recorded 53 rushing yards and nine receiving yards on the year. 

High School: A 2012 graduate of Fayetteville High School, Shafer was coached by Paul Meunch. He earned all-league recognition.

Personal: A communication studies major, he is the son of Scott and Missy Shafer.
