High School: Attended Pleasantville High School, where he earned four varsity letters under head coach Tony Becerra… member of the NY State Section 1 Champions, NY State Regional Champions, and the New York State Finalist team… received All State 2nd Team, All League, Lohud Honorable Mention, and MVP for Special teams… also lettered in golf.
 
Personal: John is the oldest Son of John and Karen McCarthy, he has 3 siblings Ciara, Dylan and Alana… is a business administration major.
