Prior to Ithaca: Baldin transferred to Ithaca from Franklin College and played two seasons. He went 15-for-22 in field goal attempts with a long of 48 yards over two years, including 10-for-13 in 2022. Baldin also went 25-for-27 in extra points in 2022 and average 57.3 yards on 11 kickoff attempts.

High School: Derek attended Lake Central where he played soccer and football.

Personal: An exercise science major, he is the son of Terry and Darci Baldin. Derek has one younger brother.
