Ben Johnson has joined the football staff ahead of the start of the 2023 season. Johnson will serve as an assistant running backs and special teams coach once his appointment begins on South Hill.
Johnson most recently spent the last two seasons at Springfield College as a graduate assistant coach and worked with the wide receivers. The Pride went 16-7 over the past two seasons and reached the NCAA Second Round this fall, where they met Ithaca at Butterfield Stadium.
Before his time at Springfield, Johnson spent 2020 season as a special teams quality control coach at the College of the Holy Cross. Johnson also worked at Amherst College as an assistant wide receivers coach from 2017-2019, and graduated from UMass in 2020 with his bachelor's in sport management.
