Austin Cordova

Ithaca College head football coach Michael Toerper has announced the addition of Austin Cordova, who will serve as the linebackers coach for the upcoming 2024 season.

Cordova comes to South Hill after spending the 2023 season at Division I FCS Rhode Island University as a defensive back assistant coach and video coordinator. The Rams went 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association, and Brent Jackson was named third team defense by the CAA as a safety.

Cordova spent the 2022 season as a defensive quality control/assistant defensive backs coach for Austin Peay, where he assisted in the development in two All-Conference selections and one All-American honoree. The defense was ranked 10th nationally in total defense, sixth in defensive pass efficiency and second in third-down percentage.

From 2020-21, Cordova coached the linebackers and safeties at Ohio Northern. While there, he also served as the program's recruiting coordinator. Before that, he spent two seasons as the outside linebackers and strength & conditioning coach at the College of Wooster.

Cordova earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science, coaching from Baldwin Wallace University in 2015. As a student-athlete with the Yellow Jackets, Cordova was a strong safety and earned three letters as he finished his career with 86 total tackles and two interceptions.
