Three of his tackles came on special teams.

2003: In his first varsity season Higgins was a reserve in the Ithaca secondary. His first career interception preserved the shutout win over Utica, coming on the goal line on the game’s final play. A week later he made a career-best three tackles, intercepted a pass on his own goal line (returning it 35 yards) and broke up two other passes in the win at Buffalo State.

2002: Higgins played with the Bombers’ junior varsity team as a freshman.

High School: At Aquinas Institute, Higgins was coached by David Nieman.

Personal: A health and physical education major, he is the son of Patrick Higgins and the late Noreen Higgins.
