Ithaca College Athletics

Mayer, a 2004 Ithaca graduate, comes to the Ithaca football and baseball teams after spending the last two years at Widener, where he was a member of the football coaching staff.

As a Bomber, Mayer earned Empire 8 all-star honors at free safety as a senior after intercepting five passes and helping the Bombers to the 2003 NCAA quarterfinals. A two-year starter, he finished his career with 60 tackles, 17 pass break-ups and nine interceptions in 33 games. Mayer received the program’s Marty Higgins Award as the top player on the junior varsity team as a freshman and was named Ithaca’s Most Improved Back as a senior. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 2004.
