2012 game-by-game statistics
2011: Matuszak played in all but one game and drew a pair of starting assignments. His four pass break-ups led Ithaca’s linebackers and ranked third on the team. He made three tackles and broke up a pass in the win at Hartwick; his two solo stops included a seven-yard sack on third down that forced a Hawk punt, leading to Ithaca’s first touchdown. Matuszak was named Ithaca’s Honorary Defensive Captain following that win and was picked as the team’s Hustler of the week following the victory at Union. He made his first career start at Springfield and finished with three tackles. He started the next week at Utica and collected a career-best five tackles along with a pass break-up. 2010: Matuszak was a back-up linebacker during his first varsity season. He was named Ithaca’s Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week following the Homecoming win over Hartwick.
2009: Matuszak played on Ithaca’s junior varsity team as a freshman. He was named Ithaca’s Special Teams Scout Player of the Week after the Union game. Matuszak was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall semester.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Johnson City High School, Matuszak was coached by Fred Deinhardt. He was a three-year team captain and also lettered in basketball and lacrosse.
Personal: A physics major, he is the son of Brian and Davi Matuszak.
