2011: An AVCA Honorable Mention All-New York Region selection, Thoene was an All-Empire 8 First-Team selection. She was named to the District 3 All-Academic First Team and the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team. Thoene, the Empire 8 Player of the Week on Oct. 10, led the team with 149 blocks (98 assists, 51 solo) and ranked second on the team with 352 kills. She added 23 digs and 16 aces with season-best performances of 23 kills, seven block assists, four block solos and three aces. Thoene concluded her career sitting fourth all-time at Ithaca with 483 total blocks (181 solo, 302 assists). She was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012.

2010: A District I All-Academic First Team selection, Thoene played in each of the Bombers’ 37 matches as a junior. She recorded 153 blocks on the season, 60 solo and 93 assists, to rank 10th all-time for most season blocks. Her career total of 334 following the 2010 season ranks her 8th all-time at Ithaca. Thoene recorded the second-most kills on the team with 333, tallying 10 or more on 14 occasions. She was named to the all-tournament team at New Paltz’ Hawk Invitational, the Union Interleague Challenge and the Skidmore Invitational. Named Empire 8 Player of the Week on Sept. 20, she earned First-Team All-Empire 8 post-season recognition and was later named to the Spring 2011 Empire 8 President’s List.

2009: The Bombers top returning player, Thoene was named and Empire 8 All-Star Honorable Mention her sophomore year. Thoene saw action in each of Ithaca’s 41 matches and led the squad with 113 blocks (47 block solos, 66 block assists). She also posted 418 kills to rank second in the team standings while adding 14 digs and six assists. Thoene notched double-digit kill performances on 21 occasions and recorded a block in all but three of the Bombers matches. On Oct. 12 she was named Empire 8 Player of the Week after hitting .331 with 78 kills in five matches for the Bombers.

2008: Thoene led the Bombers in blocks as a freshman, compiling 51 (10 block solos, 41 block assists) in 87 sets. She had at least one block in 24 of her 28 matches. She had a season-high seven blocks against Cortland. Thoene also tallied 95 kills on the season. She was named Empire 8 Rookie of the Week following the first Empire 8 Crossover after recording 21 kills and 15 blocks in Ithaca’s four matches.

Career statistics

High School: Thoene is a 2008 graduate of Voorhees High School, where she was coached by Carmen Cook. She earned two varsity letters and was named second-team all-county as a senior.

Personal: A physical therapy major, she is the daughter of and Harry and Lissa Ross and Stanley Thoene.
