2011: Gilfedder started every game at linebacker and earned second-team Empire 8 all-star honors. He was also Ithaca’s representative on the Empire 8 Sportsmanship team. He received Ithaca’s Dick Lyon Award at the team’s postseason banquet. Gilfedder led Ithaca with 92 tackles, 51 solo stops and 11 tackles for loss and added three pass break-ups and a sack. He was named the team's Honorary Defensive Captain following the Brockport, Utica and Cortland games. Gilfedder made a career-best 14 tackles at #21 Salisbury and totaled 34 stops (24 unassisted) and four tackles for loss in a three-game stretch that covered the St. John Fisher, Springfield and Utica games. He matched a career-high total with three tackles for loss against Alfred. He notched eight tackles (seven of them were solo stops) and a pair of pass break-ups in the Empire 8 win over Hartwick. 2010: Gilfedder started the first three games before missing three games with an injury. He recorded season-best totals of 10 tackles and three tackles for loss in the season-opening win against St. Lawrence (recovering a fumble) and made three more stops behind the line of scrimmage in the victory over Union. 2009: Gilfedder started every game at linebacker and was named Ithaca’s Most Improved Lineman. He made seven tackles for loss, broke up four passes (to lead the team’s linebackers) and tied for the team lead with four interceptions. His four interceptions matched the second-highest single-season total by a Bomber linebacker. He was named Ithaca’s Outstanding Lineman after the Widener, Utica, Hartwick and Alfred wins. Gilfedder collected career-best totals of 10 tackles and two tackles for loss at Union. He recorded two tackles for loss in the wins over #25 Alfred and Cortland. He picked off a pair of passes in the win at Hartwick and added interceptions against Union and Widener. Gilfedder had nine tackles and two pass break-ups in the win at Utica. He ranked fifth on the team in special teams tackles, recording nine (including one for loss). High School: A 2008 graduate of Governor Livingston High School, Gilfedder was coached by Terry Hanratty. He earned all-conference, all-county, all-area and all-group honors his junior and senior years and served as team captain as a senior.
Personal: An exercise science major, he is the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Gilfedder.
