Biography

Career statistics

2011: Cline started every game at strong safety and led Ithaca’s defensive backs in tackles for loss. He made his first career start in the season-opening win over Brockport and finished with three solo tackles and a pass break-up. A week later he recorded career-best totals of nine tackles and four solo stops (including one for loss) at #21 Salisbury. Cline’s eight tackles helped Ithaca post a win at Union. He made three solo tackles in the Hartwick win and a week later contributed two tackles and a pair of second-quarter turnovers against St. John Fisher. Cline recovered a fumble inside his own 40 and intercepted a pass in the end zone on the final play from scrimmage of the first half. | 2011 game-by-game statistics

2010: Cline earned his second letter as a back-up strong safety and special teams stalwart. He tied for the team lead with eight tackles in kick coverage despite missing three games. Cline was named Ithaca’s Outstanding Specialist following the St. John Fisher game. He recorded a career-best five tackles – including a pair of solo stops – in the Homecoming win over Hartwick. | 2010 game-by-game statistics

2009: Cline was one of the stars of Ithaca’s Cortaca Jug win, recording two takeaways. He recovered a second-quarter fumble and sealed the win, collecting his first career interception with 55 seconds left. Cline made a pair of solo stops in the win. He recorded a career-best three tackles at Hartwick – all in kick coverage – and was named Ithaca’s Outstanding Specialist after that performance. 2008: Cline played on Ithaca’s junior varsity team. He was named the Bombers’ Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week following the win over Utica and was picked as Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week after the Cortaca Jug victory.

High School: A 2008 graduate of Waldwick High School, Cline was a two-time league all-star. He served as team captain as a senior.

Personal: A clinical science/physical therapy major, he is the son of Richard and Reyna Cline.
