2010: For the second year in a row, Clarke played in every game; he started the season’s final five contests. His 67 tackles, 26 solo stops and 12 tackles for loss both ranked third on the team. Clarke’s four pass break-ups were the second-highest total among Ithaca’s linebackers. He made a season-best 13 tackles at #20 Cortland in the Cortaca Jug game, recording three behind the line of scrimmage. He made 12 tackles (including two for loss) and broke up two passes at Lycoming. Clarke matched his career high with four tackles for loss (among 10 total stops) at Alfred. He broke up two passes and picked up a pair of tackles for loss against Utica and was named Ithaca’s Honorary Defensive Captain following that victory. 2009: Clarke played in every game and started five times at middle linebacker. He was named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-best 16 tackles as Ithaca handed #25 Alfred its first loss. Clarke’s performance included seven solo stops, two pass break-ups and a sack among his career-high four tackles for loss. He was also named Ithaca’s Honorary Defensive Captain. He matched his 16-tackle performance a week later in the Cortaca Jug win. He made two tackles for loss and broke up a pass against the Red Dragons. Clarke made 11 tackles in the win at Utica. 2008: Clarke was one of Ithaca’s top freshmen, collecting 36 tackles despite missing three games with an injury. He made his first career start at St. John Fisher, collecting four tackles. A week later he led Ithaca with a personal-best 13 tackles in the win at Norwich. He was named the team’s Outstanding Lineman and Specialist of the Week following that victory. High School: A 2008 graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School, Clarke was coached by Mike Whittles. He earned first-team all-league and second-team all-county recognition.
Personal: An exercise science major, he is the son of John and Meg Clarke.
