Career statistics
2011: Kugler returned to the field after missing his sophomore season with an injury and played in all but one contest. In his first game back he picked up a seven-yard sack in Ithaca’s season-opening win over Brockport. He made a pair of tackles in the win at Union and matched that total at Springfield. Kugler made three tackles, including one for loss in the Cortaca Jug game. 2010: Kugler missed the season with an injury.
2009: Kugler was one of Ithaca’s top newcomers, playing in every game at defensive end. He started five times, including each of the last four games. He led the team with four sacks and two fumble recoveries and his 33 tackles and seven tackles for loss both topped the Bombers’ freshmen. Kugler made a career-best six tackles in the win at Frostburg State then topped that total with nine stops at Springfield a week later, earning honors as Ithaca’s Outstanding Lineman. He made four tackles, including a sack, and recovered a fumble in Ithaca’s season-opening win at St. Lawrence. High School: A 2009 graduate of Highland Park High School, Kugler was coached by Kurt Wienberg. He earned all-conference, all-area and all-state honors.
Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of Ed Kugler and Sonya Dagovitz.
