2010 game-by-game statistics

2009: Ruggiero was limited to five games because of injuries. He ran for 487 yards and three touchdowns. He closed the season with 116 yards in the win over #25 Alfred (putting him over 1,000 career yards) and 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Cortaca Jug victory. Ruggiero was named Ithaca’s Outstanding Back after the Alfred win and also earned that honor following his season-best 122-yard effort at Union. In the season-opening win at St. Lawrence he ran for 75 yards and scored a rushing and receiving touchdown.

2009 game-by-game statistics

2008: Ruggiero played in every game and ran for 659 yards and seven touchdowns. He took over as Ithaca’s regular running back in the win at Alfred and posted career-best totals of 192 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Ruggiero was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week and was picked as the team’s Outstanding Back. A week later he ran for 95 yards and recorded career-high figures of three catches for 55 yards (including a 32-yard touchdown) in the Cortaca Jug win over the previously unbeaten Red Dragons. Ruggiero set a Bomber playoff record with 33 carries against Curry, gaining 138 yards. He scored the first two touchdowns of his career in the win at Norwich, while running for 89 yards (with 77 coming in the second half).

2008 game-by-game statistics

2007: Ruggiero played in six games as a reserve running back and on Ithaca’s special teams units. He ran for 16 yards in the Bombers’ Homecoming win over Norwich. He recovered a fumble on a punt return during the win at Utica. He was named the team’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week following the win at Springfield. Ruggiero was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall semester.

2007 game-by-game statistics

High School: A 2007 graduate of Pen Argyl Area High School, Ruggiero was coached by Eric Sampson. He was a two-year team captain and earned first-team all-league and all-area honors as a senior. Ruggiero also lettered in baseball.

Personal: An accounting-finance and accounting major, he is the son of Joseph and Diana Ruggiero.
