2008: Goetz earned first-team Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate NY all-star honors and was a second-team pick to D3football.com’s East Region all-star team. Despite missing two games, he led the team in sacks and his 12 tackles for loss ranked second on the Bombers. Goetz collected six tackles and a career-best two sacks in the season-opening win over Lycoming. He picked up five tackles – with two for loss – against Curry in the NCAA playoffs. He added two tackles for loss against Springfield, St. John Fisher and Norwich. Goetz blocked a field goal attempt in the Empire 8-clinching win at Alfred.

2007: Goetz started all 11 games and led Ithaca’s defensive linemen in tackles for loss (16) and sacks (four). He collected
career-best totals of six tackles and three tackles for loss, along with a fumble recovery, against #6 St. John Fisher. Goetz topped his career-high a week later, notching seven tackles (two for loss) in the win over Brockport. Three of his five tackles in the Homecoming victory over Norwich were behind the line of scrimmage. He finished the season with back-to-back six-tackle efforts in the Cortaca Jug win and against #1 Mount Union in the NCAA playoffs.

2006: Goetz played in eight games and started the last six at defensive end. He made his first career start in the win at Brockport and recorded season-best totals of four tackles and two tackles for loss. In his collegiate debut, Goetz made two solo tackles in the Buffalo State win. He made picked up three tackles, including two solo stops, in the Cortaca Jug game.

Career statistics
High School: A 2006 graduate of New Hyde Park Memorial High School, Goetz was coached by Kevin Dolan. Goetz was an all-county selection, team captain and team MVP. He was picked to play in the Long Island All-Star Empire Challenge and the Long Island High School All-Star Game. Goetz was also the state wrestling runner-up in the heavyweight division as a senior.
Personal: A health and physical education major, he is the son of Peter and Mary Ann Goetz. He is a three-year letter winner as a heavyweight with Ithaca’s wrestling team, winning 45 matches in his career
